Age Requirements
Must be 16 years of age with a valid drivers license to drive your own snowmobile. Children ages 6-15 ride as a passenger.

Reservations are strongly recommended, but not required and may be easily secured over the phone. A credit card is required to confirm and hold your booking. Payment is due the day of the tour with check, cash, Master Card or Visa.

Double Riders
There is a 300 lb combined weight limit for each snowmobile. We recommend that adults drive their own machine. Don't be intimidated if you're a beginner, driving your own is easier than you think. Most people on our tours are first time riders. Children between 6 and 15 years of age ride double with an adult. Winter cost is $125 per underage rider. Cost for summer tour underage rider is $300. Adults who choose to ride double pay full price.

Cancellation Policy

Winter Tours: Cancellations within 48 hours of your scheduled departure time will be charged 50%. A no show the day of the tour will be charged full price. You will not be charged if the weather prevents your trip from happening. Glacier City’s guides determine weather cancellations.

Summer Tours: Cancellations within 7 days of your scheduled departure time will be charged $200 per person. A no show the day of the tour will be charged 100%. You will not be charged if the weather prevents your trip from happening. Glacier City’s guides determine weather cancellations.

Check In
Our tour office is conveniently located a beautiful 35 minute drive South of Anchorage at the entrance to Girdwood. Located in the mini-mall on the corner of the Seward and Alyeska Highways. Our tour office is located in our gift shop the "Great Alaskan Tourist Trap". An up-scale gift shop with a humorous twist! For convenience most people prefer to come early and have breakfast next door at the Alpine Diner.

Winter Departure Times

November thru mid February check in times are 10:00am & 1:00pm.
Mid February thru April check in times are 9:00am & 1pm.

Glacier City Snowmobile’s winter tours take place where conditions are best and are determined by snow pack, visibility, wind, Forest Service decisions and other variables. We cannot guarantee going to the glacier or ice caves.

Summer departure times

Summer Tours begin May 20 and run thru September.

We continue to customize your departure time and offer exclusive packages. Just let us know what time between 9:00am and 6:00pm that you would like to go and we will coordinate this with the air taxi service.

We recommend you make your reservation at the beginning of your trip so that you may reschedule in the event of bad weather on the day of your scheduled tour.

Weight Restrictions for Summer Snowmobiling
Due to FAA restrictions and balance calculations persons weighing over 240 pounds must purchase an additional ˝ seat for safety reasons. There is a 300-pound per person weight limit.
